EMDR Therapist in Los Angeles

MEET CINNAMON R. JOHNSON LMFT, EMDR THERAPIST IN LOS ANGELES.

Bring confidence and happiness back into your life.

Regardless of what you're facing right now:

You've come to the right place.

You think it would be too hard to overcome the deeply rooted stuff. You worry that it would be too embarrassing to tell a complete stranger your business. And you’re pretty certain that you may never get over feeling like an imposter at work. Like, ever. The fear of judgment is keeping you stuck.

I believe my job is to help you release old patterns and form new ones so that you can live the life that you really want. I will help you work through the childhood stuff that makes it difficult to move forward in your day to day life. My goal as your therapist is to help you look at the thought patterns that are preventing you from really getting into your creative bag the way you’d like.

My clients have told me that I’m an approachable therapist. And I prefer it this way, so that you can feel as comfortable and anxiety-free as possible and get the most success out of therapy.

You want someone who can listen & understand your experiences.

Not everyone works with creatives like I do.

I take my training as a mental health therapist and lived experiences as a creative and help you find the clarity that you need in your life. You can be authentically yourself and get the self-assurance that you’re looking for in our sessions together.

It is my goal to provide you with a warm, open, empathic, and supportive therapy environment where you can feel comfortable to express your emotions and be yourself.

  • Who It’s For

    • Women who are actors, musicians, artists, writers, or aspiring to be.

    • Those willing to release old patterns and form new ones by exploring difficult experiences or memories.

    • Women who are open to a mixture of directness and reflective listening from me.

    • If that sounds like what you need, then let's chat!

  • Who It’s Not For

    • Those who tend to avoid looking at difficult experiences or memories because it makes them too uncomfortable.

    • Those who want therapy in a short amount of time and are looking for “quick fixes.”

    • Those who are not able to attend weekly sessions in the beginning of treatment.

My Methods

Psychodynamic

The kind of work I do is geared towards more long-standing patterns and getting to the root of change. There is a reason for these patterns of behavior that may be out of your awareness. Together we will look at how those unconscious behaviors are showing up in your work and relationships.

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a collaborative therapy that teaches you how to change the way you think by understanding how your thoughts, emotions, and behavior influence each other. As an active collaborator, trainer, and educator, I assist you in changing dysfunctional thought patterns that are no longer serving you in your relationships and at work.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) has been known to treat trauma & PTSD. I utilize EMDR to not only treat PTSD, but also self-esteem issues and anxiety by helping clients look at difficult life experiences in a way that encourages personal growth and recovery.
