SUPPORTING CREATIVE WOMEN IN LOS ANGELES AND THROUGHOUT CA ONLINE

Heal trauma and move forward.

Has the deeply rooted stuff made it hard to move forward?

Have you experienced neglect from the people who raised you growing up? What about harmful family interactions, generational trauma, or emotional abuse?

You told yourself that you weren’t going to continue living in the past. It’s impacting your creative expression and relationships with your loved ones. You are at the point in your life where you realize that your mental health is impacting your quality of life in a negative way. You just want to be a healthy woman who is at peace and able to enjoy life in the present moment.

Many of my clients come to be because they don’t realize that their childhood has been affecting them all this time. Or they have realized that it’s affecting them, but it was easier for them to ignore it. Until it wasn’t. Despite pushing the experience out of their minds, their body has a way of reminding them of it through physical ailments and sensations.

You may be experiencing the side effects of childhood trauma and struggling to live in the moment and move forward. You don’t like that you get caught up in your reactions to trauma reminders. This is something you’re willing to fix. Therapy for childhood trauma may be for you if:

  • You’re struggling with PTSD or anxiety from childhood trauma.

  • You’ve experienced childhood neglect, harmful family dynamics, or emotional abuse

  • Emotions like anger, guilt, and resentment seem to dominate your life and your relationships are suffering.

  • You feel tired and exhausted, and it’s impacting other aspects of your life.

  • Work is being negatively affected by childhood memories.

Life can feel different than the way it does today.

Therapy for childhood trauma can help you move from feeling stuck in the past to learning the right strategies to deal with triggering moments in the future.

Together we will work through the things that are holding you back from being the woman you want to be. We’ll work on coping skills, processing the distressing experiences, and finding more helpful ways of looking at these experiences. Therapy for childhood trauma isn’t:

  • Me trying to convince you that you’re a terrible person & you have to fix everything

  • Me telling you that it’s not really a  trauma and you need to get over it

  • Me charging you for recommending blogs and books

  • Everything is fixed in one session & you never have to worry about anything again

We’ll meet for your initial intake session to get a sense of what your needs are & where I can help. I'm excited to work with women seeking happiness, peace, and mental wellness at home and at work, those who want to dig deep, work hard, and get excited about their futures as creative people. What we process in therapy is always confidential. Initial feelings of vulnerability may be felt, but we'll follow your pace and approach solutions & coping together. You get to choose what you want to disclose. All I ask is that you give me brief feedback as to what is going on for you. It is my goal to challenge you (in a way that is not like a math problem or something) and provide you with the tools and assistance you need so that you can get unstuck and become a happier person.

Therapy for childhood trauma can help you:

  • Be more assertive in your relationships

  • Observe your childhood in a new light that keeps you moving forward

  • Refrain from reverting to old habits

  • Speak and think more confidently

  • Calmly respond to triggers

  • Develop everyday coping skills

  • Embrace the present moment with all of your heart

Trauma therapy for:

  • Childhood neglect

  • Harmful family dynamics

  • Generational trauma

  • Emotional abuse

What EMDR Therapy Can Do for Trauma

You might be wondering what EMDR is and how it can help you heal from childhood trauma. EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a type of therapy that is known for treating trauma. I believe EMDR therapy can be used for many other mental health issues like depression, self-esteem issues, anxiety, etc.

I can go into a fancy explanation of how EMDR works, but essentially, it is a way to get past your past. It is different from other types of talk therapy because EMDR helps you achieve long lasting change that doesn’t really require you to go into detail about the trauma. During an EMDR session, I will simply ask for brief feedback as to what is coming up for you. You don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to.

EMDR is a powerful way to get the desired change you've been looking for. Get started with a 15-minute consultation if you're ready to end trauma's hold on your life.

FAQS

What others have wondered about therapy for childhood trauma

  • During your first few sessions we will cover your intake paperwork. During these sessions, my goal is to get a full understanding of your needs and how I can help. I offer different session lengths, and I recommend in the beginning we meet once a week for the first 13 sessions to keep up the momentum we see in session. We will create a treatment plan that will act as a guide for your therapy, but sessions aren’t overly structured unless we are doing a therapy like EMDR. Otherwise, if you experience a conflict during the week, we can unpack it together during the session. Payment is collected at the end of the day electronically.

  • As a therapist, it is my goal to always assure my clients that they are confident in their own skills and abilities, and not reliant on me. This process takes different amounts of time for different people. The time we spend working together will depend on the challenge you're experiencing. In many cases, I support clients for longer periods of time, serving as a resource for coping skills and navigating new challenges.

  • The first step is a free, no-obligation 15-minute consultation to get to know me, how I work, and to ask any questions you may have. In addition, it allows me to determine whether my expertise matches your needs. Once we decide if there is a good fit, I will send you a link to complete the intake paperwork. You will also get a link to our first online session.
